Pharmaceutical Packaging 3D Mockups

Supported pharmaceutical packaging development by refining a pre-existing 3D model to better align with print references and brand color standards. Focused on stabilizing lighting, shadow behavior, and material response to ensure consistent, review-ready visuals across multiple angles and transparent backgrounds.

Because the original packaging file relied on uncontrolled lighting and material settings, brand colors appeared inconsistent across views, introducing risk during client review. Additionally, a missing structural tab and unpredictable shadow behavior made the mockups unreliable for presentation and iteration.

solution

I rebuilt the lighting and material setup to create predictable color behavior across all faces of the box, corrected shadow intensity for transparent-background delivery, and added the missing packaging tab based on print specifications. The final setup allowed the team to review, iterate, and export consistent visuals without reintroducing visual artifacts.

This project involved taking over a nearly completed Blender packaging file mid-process to address client feedback and prepare the visuals for presentation and approval. The primary challenges were inconsistent color reproduction compared to print references, uncontrolled reflections and shadows on transparent backgrounds, and a missing structural “Open Here” tab that needed to match the physical package layout.

I rebuilt the lighting and material response to create more predictable color behavior across all faces of the box while maintaining soft, realistic grounding shadows suitable for transparency. Rather than altering brand colors directly, I adjusted material roughness and light interaction to reduce washout and improve consistency between front and side panels. I also added the missing packaging tab based on print specifications and ensured correct orientation relative to the perforated opening.

Final deliverables included multi-angle, web-ready PNG renders and an updated Blender file, allowing the team to continue iterating without reintroducing visual inconsistencies.
